Membership

The Irish American Club, East Side's membership year runs from July 1st through June 30th

Interested in joining? Take a look at our 2024-2025 Memberships:

  • $30 Individual Membership: includes a single adult, 21 years of age or older. 
  • $50 Family Membership: includes two (2) adults and all their children under 18 years of age. 
  • $50 Single Family Membership: includes one (1) adult and all their children under 18 years of age.
  • $20 Student Membership: This is an individual membership for those between the ages of 18-20.

Get Involved

Volunteers are at the heart of the IACES and what makes it successful. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved and volunteer as much or as little time as you have to give. These committees often plan many of the major activities for members to attend.

We have a number of committees/activities covering a wide variety of interests for all ages, singles, couples, or families.

Bartenders - 
Pub & Events

Chair: Casey Hatcher
Chair: Robin Burton

Bartenders provide service behind the bar for club events (volunteer / tips only), The Pub (volunteer / tips only) and rentals (paid).

Bereavement
& Funeral

Chair: OPEN
 

This Committee of dedicated and heartfelt volunteers sets up and serves food when the club is rented for an after funeral luncheon. At the end the group also packs up any remaining food for the bereaved family to take home.


 

Beautification & Maintenance

Chair: Michael Byrne 
 

This Committee helps to keep our facilities updated and operational. No experience is needed, but if you have any experience in the trades (plumbing, electrical, painting, construction, etc) - your services could be very valuable. 

Communications & Social Media

This Committee manages the internal and external communications of the IACES. This includes the IACES website, all social media accounts and weekly email blast. Members take pictures and videos of events as well.

Constitution & 
Bylaws

Chair: OPEN

This Committee consists of a Chair appointed by the IACES President and members selected by the Chair, based on the provisions of Article V, Section 5.1 of the Club’s Bylaws. The Committee attempts to meet monthly.  The present committee has established a priority lists of seven areas of the Bylaws for review.  The Committee reports to the Board and the membership.

Entertainment 
(Club & Pub)

This Committee scouts out and books musicians/bands and other entertainment for The Pub as well as club sponsored events.

Fish Fry
 

Chair: OPEN

Every Lent, the Club sponsors a Fish Fry every Friday night. Help is needed for setup, cooking, and clean up.


 

Golden Shamrocks
 

Chair: OPEN

The Shamrocks are a social group for seniors. They meet every Wednesday afternoon at 1PM in the Club’s Main Hall.  Activities include: Trips, Guest Speakers, Luncheons and Card Parties.

Membership

The goal of the membership committee is to create and manage campaigns and increase membership for the club. Membership drives will be off the site in various parts of the East Side. Volunteers are needed for ideas and to work membership events.

Pack The Pub

The Pack the Pub Committee is committed to creating new events and promotions for The Pub. Events have included Trivia Nights, Pub Game Day, The Irish Dawg Pound.

Housed in the lower level of the club, The Padraic Pearse Center, Inc. is the cultural arm of the club.  The center’s purpose is to promote Irish heritage &culture through such activities as it’s library, Irish dance & Gaelic language lessons, various lectures, theatrical productions & educational programs. 

Jack McDonough Fife & Drum Corp

Chair: Peggy McDonough Voll

Club members of all ages are invited to be part of the fife and drum corp. Learn the basics of traditional Irish Fife and precision marching.

Pom Pom Unit

Our littlest and cutest members always put on a great show. Girls as young as 4 delight the IACES crowd year in and out with an adorably original performance. The Pom Pom unit is a great way to introduce your child to the IACES and all the joy that comes with it.

Flag Corp

Proudly twirling, spinning and waving their IACES flags down the parade route has become a hallmark of this small yet motivated group of young ladies. Ages 13 and older.

Ladies Drill Team

For our more mature club members, the Ladies Drill Team combines precision drill, innovative maneuvers, hard work, and a few pints of Guinness into a wonderfully unique performance.

The creativity and muscle of club members work on this masterpiece months in advance of Cleveland’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Irish American Club Eastside Pipe Band

Chair: Bruce Greig

The Pipe Band was formed in the Fall of 2001 by a few members with the mission of putting together a fun marching band for the Irish American Club, East Side. The Band continues to grow, currently boasting a roster of more than 30 members and students. The musicians in the band share the same desire of promoting our culture and heritage playing traditional bagpipe music while proudly representing the club. They represent the club year round at parades and festivals, and compete in Pipe and Drum competitions.

The Schanachie

The Schanachie is the club's monthly newsletter. Volunteers are needed for writing articles, photography, selling ad space, proofreading, and assisting with mailout.


 


 

St. Patrick's 
Day Raffle

This raffle is an annual fundraiser for the club. Volunteers are needed to help sell tickets

Sunshine
Club

Chair: Mary Kay Malone

Our Sunshine Club, led by the wonderful Mary Kay Malone, is dedicated to spreading warmth and support within our community. Mary Kay ensures that members who are sick, undergoing or recovering from surgery, or have experienced a loss in the family receive a heartfelt card on behalf of the Club. It's our way of showing that we care and are here for each other through life's ups and downs.
